New Members John and Joanne Vandermark
We are Joanne & John Vandermark of Ferndale, MI and we took delivery of our 1984 GB 42 Motoryacht in June of 2007. Having renamed her "VanDerZee,” it was time to make the journey from Jacksonville, FL to Rock Hall, MD. We made the entire passage outside, with following seas, no wind, a full moon and 3 visits by dolphins. What a way to experience the Grand Banks legacy, WOW! The VanDerZee's home is now at Spring Cove Marina, in Rock Hall, MD.
Jo and I will be commuting from our home in Ferndale until retirement. We grew up on the east coast and still have many friends & family in New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Virginia. We have lived in Michigan for 29 years and raised our 3 children here. Our boating experience includes sailing on the Great Lakes; we were members of Crescent Sail Yacht Club, Grosse Pointe, for many years. We have also chartered sailboats in the Caribbean. We are reconnecting with the east coast and have begun planning weekends of fun, with our family and friends. We are looking forward to visiting popular spots of the northern Chesapeake this summer and also getting involved with the CBGBOA activities.
