New Members Chuck Wetterer and Karen Banzhoff
Chuck Wetterer and Karen Banzhoff hail from Hopkinton, New Hampshire where the winters are too long and the summers are too short. Chuck has had a fondness for the Chesapeake since crewing on sailboats while employed at DuPont in Wilmington some 25+ years ago. Karen’s family had a summer home on a NH lake and she always has enjoyed being on the water.
Since high school Chuck has always wanted a Grand Banks (must have been Yachting Magazine). This past summer we joined Karen’s sister and brother-in-law on their Silverton and made the Baltimore, Annapolis and St. Michaels tour. At that point we started the search for our Grand Banks.
After numerous trips to Virginia and Maryland and searching on the internet for our future 42 foot Grand Banks we had the good fortune to be shown a boat that many of you may be familiar with – Joe and Carol Sarnowski’s 46 foot Peddler II. From the moment we boarded her we knew this was the Grand Banks for us.
We relocated Peddler II (now known as Bonanza II) to Grasonville, MD where we plan to keep her for the next few years.
Karen is a residential real estate agent with three grown children. Chuck is a commercial real estate developer with twin 25 year old girls. We hope to spend one-third to one-half of the season on Bonanza II and look forward to meeting the CBGBOA members and participating in the upcoming events.
