New Members Thom and Jean Chase

We are Thom and Jean Chase. Our boat is a 42 foot 1985 Grand Banks Motor Yacht, named the Auburn Knight. We live in Sarasota, FL and moved here in 2006. For the past 10 years we lived on the Knight full time in the Hudson River, summering in Nyack, NY and wintering at Liberty Landing Marina in NJ. Currently our boat is in Nyack, NY. Our favorite cruising places have been the Long Island Sound, Block Island, Sag Harbor, the Connecticut River and the Hudson River.

When we moved to Florida we had planned to "snow-bird" up north and cruise the summers. We found we loved it in Florida and did not want to return north. We have reluctantly decided to put the Knight up for sale. We will remain active in boating and plan on purchasing another boat. We wanted to join this organization as Thom bought the Knight in the Chesapeake and we have always loved that part of the world. We look forward to doing some cruising there

Before retiring, Thom was a helicopter pilot with the Port Authority of NY and NJ police, as well as serving 30+ years in the Army Reserves. The boat was named for Auburn University which was Thom's alma mater, and for his unit call sign in Viet Nam, which was Knights. Jeannie is a nurse and her last position was NE Manager for Aetna's Registration program. Currently we enjoy several volunteer activities, including Eternal Reefs, helping prostate cancer patients win insurance claim denials for proton treatment, and perfecting our beach bum skills.
