New Members Barb and Bob Mullins

We are Bob and Barbara Mullins and have lived in Edgewater, MD since moving here from Silver Spring in 1985. We recently purchased a 42' 1985 Motoryacht, Auburn Knight, from Thom and Jean Chase. We've renamed her Endless Summer. Our immediate plans are to get to know the boat cruising the Chesapeake Bay, and eventually to follow the sun and warm weather up and down the East Coast. We plan to keep the boat at our house on the South River. Both of us are water rats and have been involved in water sports and boating for most of our lives. We both love to water ski and Bob is a scuba diver, and recently got his USCG 50 Ton Master's license. He's also raced E-Scows and log canoes. Barb loves to fish-she did a lot of offshore fishing when she lived in Ocean City, and enjoys fishing on the Bay for Rockfish and Bluefish.

So far our cruising, which we've done in a 22' Grady White, has been limited to day trips to Baltimore and St. Michaels, and one overnight trip to Solomons. Our interest in getting a larger boat began with a one-week charter of a Krogen 42 on the Bay a couple of years ago. We did the Little Loop from Oxford to St. Michaels, then to Chestertown, Baltimore, Deale, Cambridge, and back to Oxford. We are really looking forward to being able to spend much more time on the water.

We joined Eastport Yacht Club in the mid-1990s, and have been involved primarily with the Finance and Race committees. Bob is controller at Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Chevy Chase, and Barb operates an interior design firm, Chesapeake Interiors, where she specializes in residential and yacht interior design. Bob enjoys construction and woodworking, and in our spare time we are continuing to renovate our early 1920s cottage. Bob also volunteers as a board member of the United Way of the National Capital Area.
